introducing: SHARE box

I’d like to try a new recycling – sharing project, here at the Derr Apartments.

I put a container down in the laundry room, and labeled it “SHARE”
If you have a magazine, book, map, catalog, etc., that you are no longer using and you think another resident in the building might like to read it: remove mailing labels and place the material in the SHARE box.
Feel free to browse the SHARE box for items other residents have passed along. I will try to monitor the materials and keep them fresh and current.
This is NOT a disposal box. Please no newspapers, junk mail, etc. Mail order catalogs are fine, but let’s not fill this container with Chinese food menus, Isthmus Newspapers, etc.

If you have any suggestions, please let me know.

City of Madison - water flushing schedule

I have posted a noticed I received from the city water department, on the front entry door.

HERE is a link to the map and flushing schedule. Check back on the blog, I will post new information as soon as I receive it. THis flushing is an annual maintenance that is done by the water department. It may results in discolored water for a few minutes; simply run the water tap til clear.
